Brand Background
Quik Billing is a personal financial management platform that has recently developed a new product to help their users reduce wasted spending from unused subscription services and other wasteful payments.
Quik Billing seeks to help cut down on wasted spending so that their users have more money for the things in life that really matter. Quik Billing hopes to get downloads of ther free app from an audience that is financially literate and motivated to improve their financial positon.
Campaign Goal
The goal of the campaign was the generate app downloads from those likely to continue using the app, and possibly explore Quik Billing's other offerings in the future. A secondary goal of the campaign was to to attract more users to Quik Billing's other financial management tools.
The primary challenge of this campaign was identifying creators whose audiences are likely to download and keep using the app, as well as creating a campaign that felt natural to the voice of both the brand and the creator.
Campaign Strategy
We proposed 3 different mid-size podcasts in the business/personal finance space that would be well-suited for promoting Quik Billing. These creators were chosen for their high enagement, past experience with sponsorships, and natural storytelling ability that contributes to compelling ad reads.
All 3 had a primarily male audience, with a roughly 70/30 male-female split. The deliverables included a 30-second ad read early within the episode and a pre-roll ad, where the podcast host thanked Quik Billing for sponsoring the podcast.
These integrations were included in episodes centered around personal finance & money spending habits, and were the exclusive sponsor of the hour-long episodes. A discount code would be used to incentivize conversions and track campaign results. The campaign would run for ~6 weeks to ensure accurate data were collected.
Execution
After presenting the three podcasts to Quik Billing, they decided to test one of the podcasts, Better Business Mindset (sample podcast). Quik Billing would sponsor three individual episodes, across three weeks.
We managed communication between the brand and the creators, ensuring the creators had the ad brief and all the required information for the sponsorship. We also made sure the creator stayed on schedule, and sent drafts of the ad-read and podcast episode to Quik Billing one week before the episode went live. The sponsored episodes would be contractually olbigated to remain live for a minimum of 12 months.
Results & Takeaways
After 6 weeks, the podcast episodes received a total of 30-40,000 (sample numbers) listens across all episodes. The campaign received 600 clicks from show notes and roughly 120 new sign ups as a result of the campaign.
This campaign also helped Quik Billing establish their new product as a go-to tool for personal billing management, bolstered by the credbility of the Better Business Mindset podcast. A natural creator-brand fit, and the curated audience of personal finance enthusiasts gave the campaign a highly targeted audience, leading to strong results for the brand.
